Montellier sparkling water, belonging to the century-old family business Alex Coulombe Ltd., has just won a prestigious international award.

Alex Coulombe Ltd. is a family business from Québec City specializing in the bottling and distribution of water and soft drinks since 1905. Founded by two brothers, Édouard and Alexandre Coulombe, the company, first named Liqueurs Coulombe, has grown from its beginnings. In 1927, Alexandre took sole control of the company and renamed it. Over the decades, it has concluded new contracts with some of the best-known beverage and sparkling water companies. From the contract with Pepsi in 1935 to the contract with Schweppes in 2011, it has grown steadily and made several acquisitions. Today, it is one of the few remaining independent bottlers in Canada with nearly 400 employees and 5,000 customers. This century-old institution is led by Marc Coulombe surrounded by his three children who are preparing to take over. In addition, it should be noted that the company’s sparkling water Montellier recently won the highest distinction awarded by the Monde Selection Institute in Brussels.
