The family-run SME Cycle Neron, one of the main bicycle retailers in Greater Montreal, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year!
Founded in 1970, Cycle Neron is one of the largest bicycle retailers in the Montreal metropolitan area. As a real benchmark in road, mountain and hybrid bicycles, the family-run SME celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. In order to remain sustainable, the Neron family has ensured a constant growth of the business, among other things through beautiful acquisitions, as in 2017, Castonguay Sports in Saint-Lambert, a flagship store for cycling enthusiasts for over 75 years. Cycle Neron currently has 5 branches and more than 50 employees. Faced with competition from online commerce, it has decided to bet on the diversity of its products and services. It also recently inaugurated a digital platform which enabled it to face the vagaries of the COVID-19 crisis and to adapt to the growing enthusiasm for cycling in Montreal. Cycle Neron is today the property of the founder’s two sons, Jean-François and Marc. The third generation is also very active with several grandchildren present in the company, including Chloé, director of operations and Stéphanie, general manager.
