Vegetable producer Hydroserre Inc., a Mirabel company specializing in hydroponics, will soon be taken over by three members of the Terrault family!

The history of Hydroserre Inc. is marked by the innovation and tenacity of two families: the Desrochers family and the Terrault family, which is now the sole owner. The company was founded in 1987 by the Desrochers family following a six-year research project that led to the development of a hydroponic growing technology on mobile floats. This innovative process, which uses a unique growth device while reducing the environmental impact of market gardening, makes it possible to harvest 16 to 18 crops per year. The growing business acquired Serres Lefort Inc. in March 2020, one of the largest producers of organic greenhouse vegetables in North America. Sylvain Terrault, its current CEO, is associated with Hydroserre Inc. since its founding while his wife, Chantal Desjardins, joined it in 1995. However, it is only in 2008 that the Terrault family acquired the business. Today, several family members are working there, thus preparing the family business transfer to the next generation. Simon Terrault, operation manager, as well as his sister Valérie, brand manager, and their cousin Francis, marketing coordinator, two HEC Montréal graduates, will soon take over the reins of the family business.
