The Fontaine brothers have just created Préval AG, a new giant in the Quebec agri-food industry with sales exceeding $600 million!

The spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship runs through the veins of brothers Fabien, Donald and Alexandre Fontaine, owners of Délimax, which is behind the Famille Fontaine brand, among others. Since its founding in 1989 by Fabien Fontaine in Saint-Hyacinthe, the three brothers have been able to grow their family business through the merger and acquisition of several complementary companies. Behind this approach lies a vision: that of vertically integrating the agri-food value chain to achieve their “farm to fork” concept. Recently, they consolidated their activities by creating a parent company, Préval AG, which groups their 36 companies in North America. The new agribusiness giant now has 1,200 employees and operates in several sectors, including meat production, transportation and processing, as well as vegetable and field crop production. With sales of $600 million, the largest producer of veal and lamb in North America, which is also an expert in ethical breeding, wants to place innovation at the heart of its mission. Recognized this year as one of the best managed companies in Canada, Préval AG has also increased the involvement of many members of the Fontaine family in the company.
