Ricola, known for its candies with benefits against colds, is a family business!

1930, in Switzerland. Emil Richterich, baker and pastry cook, founded Richterich & Co Laufen, a confectionery that quickly specialized in sweet products with medicinal properties. In 1940, after several years of research on the properties of plants, he developed the recipe for a candy known for its benefits against colds. He called this candy RICOLA, bringing together the first syllables of the name of the company. In 1948, the company was renamed Ricola with the image of its successful product. Today, after three generations of Richterich at its head and a fourth who is ready to take over, the family business markets its famous sweets in more than 50 countries. This international presence is explained by the marketing innovation brought by the third generation. Who does not remember the famous advertising “Riicolaa!”?
