Family business Rouses Markets, one of the largest independent grocery chains in the United States, will be offering drone deliveries this fall!

Rouses Markets is one of the largest independent family-owned supermarket chains in the United States. Present in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, it employs more than 7,000 employees and has 64 points of sale. Founded by J.P. Rouse in 1923 in Louisiana under the name City Produce Company, the business then specialized in the purchase and distribution of local products across the country. It was not until 1960 that it opened its first grocery store under the name Rouses Markets. This year, the 3rd generation company celebrates the 60th anniversary of its brand. To mark the occasion, the family business is innovating and is offering the delivery of grocery orders by drone this fall, a project born out of a partnership with the company Deuce Drone specializing in the manufacture of delivery drones. Drone delivery not only allows orders to be delivered in around 30 minutes, it also promotes contactless delivery, a welcome measure in these times of pandemic.
