Topring, a leader in compressed air networks, has won first prize in the family succession category at the 2022 Business Transfer Awards!

The entrepreneurial history of the Menard family, behind the success of Topring, goes back to the 1920s with the founding of the first company specialized in the distribution of industrial parts. At the beginning of the 1980s, Louis Ménard of the 2nd generation wanted to diversify his offer. In this spirit, he bought the Granby-based manufacturing company Topring from a group of Italian investors. A true visionary, Louis Ménard saw in Topring the opportunity to enter the very promising compressed air market. Although Topring started out as a company specializing in the manufacture of pneumatic components, Louis Menard changed the company’s mission over the years, gradually abandoning the manufacturing aspect. Instead, he refocused his operations on the design, assembly and distribution of compressed air systems for the manufacturing, automotive and construction sectors. With an offering of more than 8,500 pneumatic components to create compressed air systems tailored to the needs of its customers, Topring has become a leader in its industry in Quebec. Recently, Topring was named Gold Medalist in the family transfer category at the 15th edition of the Business Transfer Awards. This contest recognized the exceptional quality of the succession plan put in place by the Menard family as well as their ability to project themselves into the future in order to ensure the continuity of the family business. The succession process was concluded in 2020 when Louis Ménard transferred the ownership of the company to his three children and a key employee. Today, the company is managed by Anne-Catherine Ménard and Frédéric Théroux, co-presidents. Alexandre Ménard and Marie Christine Ménard act respectively as national sales manager and project manager. The four entrepreneurs are all graduates of HEC Montréal. Congratulations to Topring!
