Trudeau Corporation, a leader in the design and distribution of kitchenware, has completed its succession process!

The history of the Trudeau Corporation family business dates back to 1889, when Baron Louis de la Polinière and Count Jean de Plan de Sieyès founded a housewares import company in Montreal. The manager of the company, Joseph-Raoul Genin, and the accountant Joseph-Arthur Trudeau became owners in 1904. When his partner died in 1919, Joseph-Arthur Trudeau became the sole owner. Since then, four generations of Trudeau’s have succeeded one another at the head of the company. All of them have, in their own way, contributed to the continuity of the family business. While the second generation, led by Paul C. Trudeau, expanded the product line and distribution network, the third generation, led by Robert L. Trudeau, transformed the family organization by giving it a more innovative character. Under his leadership, Trudeau also expanded to build two distribution centers in Quebec and the United States. Today, the Trudeau brand is well established in North America, with more than 16,000 points of sale, as well as internationally where its 2,000 tableware products are distributed in some 40 countries, mainly in Europe, Latin America and Asia. For several years, the company has implemented a succession process under the guidance of its board of directors. In 2017, Anne-Marie Trudeau became the group’s CEO, and this year the process closed with the transfer of ownership of the group. Anne-Marie Trudeau, who has been with the group for more than 23 years, is thus the first female leader and owner of the century-old company. Aiming for both innovation and sustainability, she wishes to continue creating value in Quebec. Her ambition: to double the size of the family business!
